Off-site in Iceland

Dec 2021

We met in Iceland to workshop for the future of our business L+H Urban: in person meetings are still important, even while setting up a remote business.

Anne an I met halfway between Germany and Canada - to discuss where we want to take our business next year. It was great to have some face to face time, see a new place, and get out of the remote bubble.

Here is what I've learned:

🌎 IRL: Even though Anne and Katja have worked together for many years, and shared many travel adventures, they really needed this meet-up, actual physical post-its, and lots of tea 🥂, to align the business mission.

🏗Urban user needs: Covid has triggered/accelerated seismic shifts in the urban context, and has created new user needs to which we as urban designers will have to respond. See crazy mind map above ⬆️ .

✈️Travel: is such a massive user need, that people will jump through the hoops of testing, risk, and uncertainty to satisfy it.

Thanks to both our partners for keeping the families alive for those eight days.
